'Ibrahim has no credibility to question S'gor MB'

Ibrahim Ali is a "hopeless politician out of capital", hit out Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim's political secretary Faekah Husin.

ngo pro selangor government rally 230111 faekahFaekah (left) added that Ibrahim who criticised Khalid for taking over Selangor's Islamic affairs portfolio, also insulted the sultan who is the state Islamic affairs chief.

"He is trying hard to make himself still relevant in homeland politics," she lashed out in a statement today.

Ibrahim went as far to say that with Khalid in charge of the portfolio, operators would be able to carry out "immoral" business opposed by Muslims, reported The Malaysian Insider.

"His attempt to pit PAS against the Selangor government is strange looking at his history with PAS," said Faekah, referring to the 2008 general election when Ibrahim, the Pasir Mas Independent MP, contested under a PAS ticket.

"Who can forget how he betrayed PAS like a parasite. Today he defends Umno, when the party is about to fall and is seen as a liability without any credibility," said Faekah in a fiery statement titled "Ibrahim Ali should be banned from Selangor".

"We are not questioning Ibrahim's actions, who is getting closer to former state executive councillor Hasan Ali... but his outspokenness is an insult to the sultan," she said.

Faekah explained that Khalid took over the portfolio only after consultation with the sultan.

She reminded Ibrahim that the integrity, sanctity of Islam and the policing of immoral activities, including gambling and vice, in the state are under the jurisdiction of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) and the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), which are overseen by the sultan.

Therefore, accusing Khalid of giving leeway to immoral activities is an insult to the religious institution and the sultan, she added.

Faekah said that the menteri besar views Ibrahim's "malicious accusations" seriously and will discuss with state's legal department as well as the palace on the possibility of pursuing legal action.
