Institutionalized racism becoming even more aggressive

Announcement
announceRacism in Malaysia is developing into a subtle, pervasive yet increasingly aggressive form.
What started as a defensive affirmative action programme is now fast degenerating into an aggressive form of institutionalized racism. This is sapping the potential of Malaysian society.
A future on this trajectory is disastrous for all Malaysians. It will bring ruin.
The political, legal and administrative structures of Malaysia – the anchors and sources of state racism – need to be fundamentally revamped.
For this reform to happen, public view of what is truly happening in our country must become sharper. It is not an easy paradigm shift given what resources are at hand for the beneficiaries of the system of race entitlement and party privilege.
Can Malaysians be galvanized into taking action? To do so, members of the public must first grasp the problem for what it truly is. Public opinion must first be aligned with the reality of how the state is being racist.
The major block to understanding our real situation comes not only from the ‘1984’ Orwellian-type brainwashing but also the TV advertisement-style of sugarcoated, popular ‘muhibbah’ indoctrination – a more subtle form that Malaysians have been continually subject to.
Hindraf and the Civil Rights Committee (CRC) of Kuala Lumpur Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH) are embarking on the first of a series of forums to highlight and educate the public on the structures and processes that entrench the Malaysian racism.
The willingness of the forum organisers to broach this topic with brutal honesty is the bitter medicine that needs to be dispensed to mind-numbed Malaysian. The patient needs a strong dose to help him see the sly and subtle steps through which our racist regime has come about.
Only with the requisite critical comprehension can we begin the process of change so that the much abused word ‘change’ will be meaningful.
Victims of institutionalized racism who have been browbeaten to accept the status quo have never dared push this topic to the foreground of political discourse.
Sadly, the increasing numbness of the Malaysian mind has been left unchecked because our established politicians on both sides of the fence – in playing safe and assiduously vote-fishing – have steadfastly refuse to take the bull by the horns.
Concerned Malaysians are invited to attend the open discussion on institutionalized racism to be held next week. Details as below:
