NO BODY CARE BROKEN DRAIN COVER

THE BROKEN drain cover on the road next to the Police Pondok in Bundusan Plaza is in immediate need for repair. The people brought the complaint to Sabah DAP Kapayan Branch and said that they had enough of these 'Don’t Border' attitudes of the authorities and the developer who is still managing this shops area.
They are very angry and not happy about the deep depression when ever their cars have to cross over. The cover to the drain has settled and it is almost 8 inches deep. The smaller cars would hit the bottom whenever they are crossing the drain here.
This has been there for a long time and yet no action has been taken either by the authorities or the developer. It is highly disputable on who is actually responsible. The Penampang Council should not turn a blind eye on this drain cover. The police officers who sit there, looking at the broken drain cover and hear the knocking sound when cars passed by did nothing too.
Stephen Jimbangan, the Sabah DAP Kapayan Branch Chairman went to inspect the broken drain cover with Edward Ewol Mujie, and he wanted the developer and the Penampang to come to repair the drain immediately for the benefits of all the people.
This is not going to cost a hundred thousand ringgit and it can be done easily and quickly. He suggested that the drain cover is to be removed and replaced with an 18 inches diameter concrete culvert. This will eliminate any future problem of repairing the metal cover again. The metal covers are highly vulnerable to metal theft too.
There is also a pool of water stagnant in the middle of the Bundusan Plaza car park. The people here had complaint about it for years already. If the drains here are reconstructed, the flooding of the car park can be solved. Why let our cars stuck in the flood water?
There must be someone who has to carry out this job and let us not pushing away the responsibility. What is the Penampang District Council doing, and they don’t seem to be taking care of the Penampang district at all. A simple case like the drain cover also can not deal with.
