'Shocked' Hasan to consult religious scholars

Gombak Setia assemblyperson Hasan Ali today said that he will speak to religious scholars on his sacking from PAS before taking action.

Expressing "shock" and "sadness", Hasan said that he will call for a press conference soon after this has been done.

In a statement today, the Selangor state exco said that he said that the "drastic" measure is even more disheartening as it reflects the party's stand on an "Islamic struggle".

"I just received news on my sacking as a PAS member with immediate effect....I am also sad that my struggle for Islam all this while has been repaid in such a way

"I will refer the matter to my friends and get the views of religious scholars about my future actions," he said in a short emailed statement.
The PAS central committee today sacked the controversial figure for going against the party interest, invoking a provision in the party constitution that allows it to take disciplinary action without going through a disciplinary committee proceeding.

In an immediate reaction, the Selangor Menteri Besar's political secretary Faekah Husin said that a nominee for Hasan's replacement as state cabinet member would be submitted to the palace on Wednesday.

Hasan is the state exco in charge of Islamic affairs.
