SYABAS using scare tactics to fear consumers on water shortage but not addressing water leakages which is the main cause of the problem

UMNO-owned company, SYABAS, which was given the concession of water supply in Selangor  is  again using the scare tactics alleging users that their State water will run out if steps are not taken immediately.

The purpose is for the state government to approve construction of two great Langat Dam desired by SYABAS and Tan Sri Rozali Ismail.

While the state government has stated many times, the water shortage problem in the state can be solved if SYABAS were to solve the water leakages in the state.

According to official information, about 30% of water treated by SYABAS is lost due to leaks. Rather than to find ways to solve SYABAS leakage from constantly happening which gives it a  bad record, SYABAS continue to harp on these two new Langat Dam construction.

It shows clearly that SYABAS want to cover their own weaknesses. SYABAS problem is its failure to solve the severe water leakage. This is because SYABAS is a windfall on its own.

Another factor is that it is possible that SYABAS is out of money and the need for the Langat Dam project through loans will give them a new source of money to be made rather than the benefits that will be derived which will benefit the Selangor people. Since new loans would have to be paid, consumers may face the removal of free water now provided so that this new loan with its side-kicks (commissions) will have to be repaid. It is another political agenda of UMNO that any failure of the Selangor Opposition government will benefit them from taking control of this state, the gem of Malaysia, which they lost in GE 2008.

In fact, SYABAS is a company that is responsible for water consumption in the state while it has failed to administer proper water management by looking at leakages, and many other related problems.

Although enough serious water leakage problem is not been addressed by SYABAS, but SYABAS could afford to pay the salaries of their chairman, Tan Sri Rozali, by RM5.1 Million a year.

While comparing the salary of Tan Sri Rozali is far more expensive than the salary of the CEO of Bank of China, the world's largest banks.

SYABAS should be dissolved with immediate effect so as to protect the liability of clean water to the people of Selangor.

SYABAS existence is only to enrich Pro-UMNO people and not to care for the welfare of the people of Selangor.
