The Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman said recent public feedback was very encouraging, and that people have been telling him that BN has regained public support since the 2008 polls.
“Big winds are blowing towards Barisan Nasional,” he said before handing out aid to 3,578 flood victims here.
Najib had said midweek he will dissolve Parliament when public confidence towards his administration is at its highest level.
“I sat with a local leader, a village chief in Teluk Kemang...when I asked him how he thought BN can perform he said BN must win,” said the prime minister to loud cheers from supporters.
He said that BN’s momentum was at a high, and that based on his walkabouts in Selangor voters were ready to put BN back in control of the state.
Najib went on to list down Pakatan Rakyat’s election promises which he claimed “have not been fulfilled” such as door and health premise tax cuts.
“I’m supposed to be in Sepang for the F-1 race, but I’m here. The people come first.
“Hamilton can’t vote, but everyone here can,” he said to squeals of laughter from the 6,000 odd crowd.
