Move to appoint Isa as KPF board member fizzles out
Following the Kuala Lumpur High Court ruling yesterday, a move to appoint Felda chairperson Isa Samad as a board member to the Koperasi Permodalan Felda Bhd (KPF) did not happen.
In fact, Isa was missing from the KPF AGM today. This was despite there being an item on the agenda earlier that the former Negri Sembilan menteri besar was scheduled to be nominated for the position during the AGM.
According to a KPF delegate, Isa’s name was proposed during the meeting to be a board member, but his nomination was rejected following the court order after it granted an interim stay over Isa’s membership status in KPF and proposed board membership.
Yesterday, Justice Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim in granting leave(permission) to four Felda settlers to initiate judicial review proceedings to contest the Malaysian Co-operatives Commission’s May 23 decision, had allowed the temporary freeze on Isa’s status.
