There are more than "100 caveats" on the Danau Putra land transferred to the Selangor government in the Talam Corporation Bhd debt restructuring deal, MCA central committee member Chua Tee Yong claims.
Zooming on the 134.34-acre plot for which he had earlier claimed the state had overpaid by RM57.3 million, Chua again questioned Selangor's rationale in accepting this parcel as a part of the debt restructuring exercise.
"As such, with as many caveats, why did Pakatan Rakyat Selangor accept this land? These caveats need to be cleared before the land is marketable as it is not free from encumbrances," Chua told a press conference at the MCA headquarters today.
According to him, there are pending "bank charges" on the land and the state's interest in the land was only protected by a caveat lodged by the state government.

'Clear all bank charges'
"To protect the rakyat's interest, the Selangor Pakatan government should clear all the bank charges and also transfer the land to its rightful owners," he said.
"This is another glaring example of incompetence and whoever is the adviser to the menteri besar should be sacked," he said.
Chua, who is the MP for Labis, had earlier alleged that the state had overpaid for the land, which consists of four plots that is mostly swamp.
He had insisted that the Selangor government had"purchased" the land for RM87.7 million or RM15 per square foot (psf).
However, this has been debunked by Trinity Corporation Bhd, which took over Talam Corporation.
Trinity said the submerged parcel of land was valued at RM93.5 million, or RM15.98psf, by independent valuers after considering the cost of RM51.5 million for filling the land with soil.
The company explained that the plot of land totalling 134.35 acres was sold to Selangor at RM87.7 million, or RM15psf, which waslower than the original valuation.
