Umno-BN has decided to use water as a weapon to 'strike' the people of Selangor into submission.
COMMENT
Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak wants to get Selangor back at all costs. He knows that in 2008, voter swing was the biggest in Selangor at 20.9% and in Kuala Lumpur at 20.5%.
So, he’s pulling out all stops to recapture Selangor. But the biggest single blunder Umno-Barisan Nasional made was to use water as a weapon to pummel the people of Selangor into submission.
That is the most despicable and heinous action Umno-BN took and it’s going to be fatal.
Allow me to share a thought from one of the readers of my blog. It seems most pertinent at this point when Najib and Umno hold Selangorians to ransom over water.
“Didalam hukum hakam agama suci Allah swt, sumber air ada untuk semua mahkluk tidak kira binatang atau manusia… akan tetapi manusia seperti biasa suka melawan hukum suci dan buat hukum sendiri!”
On such a basic need as water to support all forms of life, BN shows its true colours,
Nothing is beneath BN to think of ways to oppress those it sees are slowly dismantling its scandalous money-making schemes to support an equally scandalous, ostentatious lifestyle.
BN leaders have come to think that they and only they deserve such a lifestyle.
Najib’s father’s legendary and exemplary leadership is on record for all to note where development benchmarks have been laid.
People must stand by Khalid
Nothing was spared to keep costs to a minimum, and the late Tun Abdul Razak forbade senior officers to send him off at the airport when he went overseas; he felt these officers had more productive things to do in their offices than to waste time being seen with him; to enjoy a few moments of reflected glory from the man?
Not for Tun, this sycophantic time-wasting habit. No need for hand kissing, sweet smiles and prolonged good-byes.
Everything that was done and practised by Tun Razak was based on a simple unwritten rule (though this was never stated, true to the character of the generally taciturn, performance-oriented man): the collective powers of the three branches of government – the Legislative, Executive and Judiciary – can and must mean that they be used as “a shield and not a sword”.
The people of Selangor must stand solidly behind Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim in facing this version of biological warfare visited upon them by the Umno-BN power-crazy leadership.
The Selangor government should start thinking of setting up a new water supply company to replace Syabas altogether.
Or it should start building a state-owned water treatment plant. With the heinous and unconscionable strategies expected from Umno-BN, the Selangor government must develop a siege mentality as a defence.
Malaysians can now decide over this Syabas issue and all other past misadventures god-fathered by BN.
