OPERATING....The Kimanis 1 ferry has begun operating between Menumbok and Labuan.
KOTA KINABALU: The newly appointed Ro-Ro ferry service operator between Menumbok and Labuan has begun full operations with three round trips daily after the ferry, Kimanis 1, arrived in Labuan on August 15.
According to its ticketing manager Francis Wong, the ferry started operating after full inspection by all the relevant authorities such as the Marine Department Malaysia, Ports and Harbours Department Sabah and Marine Customs.
“The schedule of Ro-Ro Kimanis 1 Ferry has been approved by the Marine Department and the fare rated for passengers, cars, lorries and trailers have been approved by the Ministry of Transport,” said Wong.
Kimanis 1 Ferry departs from Menumbok for the one-hour trip to Labuan at 8am, 1pm and 6pm while the trips from Labuan to Menumbok will start at 10.30am, 3.30pm and 8.30pm.
“Our company will do our best to provide the best service to our customers and we will also provide special ferry service arrangements if there are requests,” Wong said.
