The people in Tuaran and Tamparuli are experiencing frequent power supply interruption almost three to four times in a week. The reason is still unknown. The people here had felt much inconvenience, and their angers are mounting up to boiling points.
They have complained to the Sabah DAP Tuaran chief Peter Liew Fui Ken on this matter. They said they pay their bills on time and yet this is the type of service they are getting in return. They said it is worst during this few days especially when they want to enjoy the exciting actions of the Olympic Games. The power cut had caused them to miss the hot direct telecast.
Peter also confirmed that he himself was affected, and he had made the complaint to the SESB. The power was switched on shortly after his complaint made. He was not informed of the caused and the reason of the power cut. Peter charged that where is the promises made by the Minister Chin Fah Kui who guaranteed that our power supply cut won't go up more than 700 minutes per year. He has failed his KPI (Key Performance Index) and Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon should take action towards him.
The power supply problems is by far settled and there is still a long way to go to improve this compulsory amenity and service. The foreign investors will not come to Sabah for this reason of high breakdown and interruption rate. The electricity tariff is so high that stops industrialists from coming to invest and set up factories in Sabah, especially in the Tuaran area.
Peter Liew pointed out the Malaysia Day "Janji Ditepati" (Promise fulfilled) is totally out of context and is in fact just the reverse. We in Tuaran felt this is an insult to our intelligence, and adding salt to the wounds. - Sabahkini
Kalau ada gangguan yang kerap seperti ini biasanya akan ada pengumuman mengenai punca2nya. memang wajarlah kalau kadar tarif elektrik tidak dinaikkan kalau jadi macam ni.
