Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) executive chairman Tan Sri Rozali Ismail pleaded with the Selangor government to stop slandering him and pointing fingers over the water issue, Sinar Harian reported.
“The Selangor government should sit together with the federal government and other parties that are involved to discuss this matter for the sake of the public. Syabas is ready to discuss with anyone to resolve the matter.
“We (Syabas) care about the people of Selangor and we are doing our best to ensure the public get sufficient water.
He hoped the problem of water supply disruption would be solved as soon as possible and the public would not just believe the allegations against him, particularly about his salary.
“The court has justified that it was a slander. My salary is not RM5.1 million per year.
“The court made the decision based on facts and anyone who is not happy with the decision can refer to the court to get more details,” he said.
The High Court in Kuala Lumpur had ordered Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua to pay RM200,000 to Syabas because of the false accusation.
“It is the Ramadan month. Let’s stop talking bad about people. It is important for everyone to put aside their political sentiments and focus on the water crisis for the sake of the public,” Rozali added.
