BUT IS HE BELIEVABLE? Hasan Ali still believes in PAS' struggle

BESUT,-- Former PAS vice-president Datuk Dr Hasan Ali said he still believed in PAS' struggle despite exposing its flaws such as between 75 to 80 per cent of its leaders were allegedly influenced by the Anwarinas group.

"I will remain with PAS and will not join Umno. Hence, my decision should be respected by all quarters," he said after holding a dialogue with civil servants organised by the Besut District Youth Council here today.

Hasan, who was former Selangor executive councillor, was sacked from PAS in January as his actions were deemed detrimental to the party.

Denying claims that he is being sponsored by Umno to hold talks throughout the country, Hasan, who is also Jalur Tiga (JATI) president, said:

"I'm giving ceramah on the principle of upholding Islam even though I have to use their own expenses."

On the influence of Anwarinas in PAS, he said the group was not only acting as a protector and a driving force, but also a spokesman for the party to the extent that ulamas were being marginalized and ignored.

"Some ulamas had faced dismissal for being outspoken in championing the religion. Hence, do not be surprised if in the near future PAS will expel more ulamas, including (former PAS deputy president) Nasharudin Mat Isa for championing Islam," added Hasan.
