Sabah Umno Gears Up For 13th General Election

KOTA KINABALU, -- All Sabah Umno division heads have been urged to strengthen the party machinery and reactivate the operation room in the run up to the next general election.

State Umno liaison committee chairman Datuk Seri Musa Aman said the divisions should be well-prepared to ensure the Barisan Nasional's stunning victory in the 13th general election.

"Sabah Umno has been organising meetings and courses in every voting district to intensify the party's preparation for the next general election," he told reporters after chairing the Sabah Umno liaison committee meeting here last night.

In the 2008 general election, Sabah BN won 59 of the 60 state seats and 24 of the 25 parliamentary seats, losing the Sri Tanjung state seat and the Kota Kinabalu parliamentary seat to the opposition.

Musa, who is also the chief minister, also briefed Umno division heads on the prime minister's visit to Sabah to the Penampang, Ranau and Kudat districts on Oct 13 and 14.
