Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim is due to meet with the Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (Jais) director today to discuss the complaint lodged by PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar.
According to Khalid, he will be accompanied by PAS Selangor commissioner Dr Abdul Rani Osman at the meeting.
“The Jais director will meet with Dr Rani and I this evening. Jais has already met with Nurul Izzah before this,” he said curtly when asked by reporters.
He was speaking at a press conference after the Selangor executive council meeting in Shah Alam today.
Nurul Izzah had on Nov 9 lodged a complaint with Jais against daily Utusan Malaysia, claiming that the Umno-owned newspaper had twisted her statement made at a Nov 3 forum on freedom of religion.

Khalid is in charge of Islamic affairs in the Selangor government, taking over the portfolio from Hasan Ali who was removed from the executive council after he was sacked from PAS.
On Nov 9, Nurul Izzah lodged a report with Jais against Utusan Malaysia, accusing the Umno-owned newspaper of misreporting her statement during a Nov 3 interfaith dialogue, titled "Islamic state: Which version? Whose responsibility?".
On Nov 5, Utusan had reported that Nurul Izzah told the forum that there was no compulsion in Islam in an article titled "Melayu bebas pilih agama? (Malays free to choose religion?)".
