Meanwhile Sabah invaders given kid-glove treatment
YOURSAY ‘A senator from a democratic country is an enemy of state, whereas armed Philippine militants are given VVIP treatment.'
Australian senator deported after 15-hour detention
Anonymous #19098644: This is an all-time low in the paranoia of a dying regime that sees enemies at every turn and nook.
To call an Australian senator an enemy of the state when there are over 100 armed men camping illegally on Sabah soil being treated with kid gloves just because they fall under the same category as what that traitor Dr Mahathir Mahathir would call "legal immigrants deserving of Malaysian citizenship", shows how far this BN regime has degenerated.
OMG!!: A senator from a democratic country is an enemy of state, whereas armed Philippine militants who intruded into the country and compromised its sovereignty are given VVIP treatment.
What kind of country is this? This is sheer abuse of power. Both the home minister and defence minister must resign or be sacked.
Hermit: Malaysia is the world's best democracy, where Thai pathologist Dr Pornthip Rojanasunand, French lawyers hired by Suaram, Australian lawmaker Nick Xenophon have been declared as enemies of the state.
While hundred of thousands of illegal migrants are given citizenshipin exchange for voting the BN government.
Ferdtan: Has the BN government lost confidence in winning the 13th general election and is so afraid of its own shadow that they don't know how to do the right thing?
Whose idea it was to detain and deport Australian senator Nick Xenophon for allegedly being an "enemy of the state"? Obviously it is not the Immigration director-general; he wouldn't dare without instruction from the higher-ups.
Is it from Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein who defended the detention? More likely, it must be from the PM himself, Najib Razak, who was angered by the boo-boos from the Psy concert in Penang last Monday.
To show that he is not as helpless and/or hapless as perceived by the people, he could have tried to imitate the toughness of his mentor, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, by taking the drastic action of deporting a foreign lawmaker.
This is despite that it would caused an international uproar that would set back the diplomatic relation between two countries.
Cogito Ergo Sum: Let's be more precise... Xenophon is perhaps an enemy of BN. Don't drag the rest of us into this by labeling him an "enemy of the state".
If there is even a shadow of doubt that the electoral rolls are not clean, how can we be sure of a fair result in GE13?
Milosevic: Decaying regimes always widen the circle of its enemies. Domestic professionals who fight for clean and fair elections are dangerous.
Intellectuals, lawyers, journalists and other professionals committed to improving society, reducing corruption, or increasing freedom and choice all become dangerous.
Only the deep-state apologists don't see the rot. It happens everywhere when regimes become predatorial, kleptocratic and murderous.
In this authoritarian framework, foreigners who don't act violently or maliciously against the nation but who, out of international concerns, point out the failings and abuses of the regime will also be targeted.
The circle of dangerous people is extended to all those nationalists and internationalists who want to see a better society.
This is the sad logic when tropical gangsters are drunk with power. And they think they are so clever when they say there is nothing political about their actions.
ABU Member: This is one of the greatest mistakes committed by the BN government despite GE13 is just around the corner.
It proves that they don't care of the negative impact this episode could inflict on international relations and voter sentiments.
A couple of years ago, the government spent millions of dollars to prop up its image overseas only to be completely destroyed by this single incident.
Anonyxyz: The BN government has given the clearest indication to date of their intention to ignore international concern about the possible violence if or when it loses the GE13.
They will create chaos and totally ignore the United Nations, just like Burma did when the generals lost the elections in 1988.
LittleGiant: Immigration director-general Alias Ahmad said, "No one is above the law. Authorities will take the appropriate action against any individual deemed to have violated national laws."
Good. I hope Alias Ahmad will remember what he said and do all that is necessary to investigate and initiate appropriate action, without fear or favour, against all those who were alleged to have committed gross abuse of power resulting in various immigration offences in Project IC and blatantly carried out by the government itself without any regard to the country's laws and regulations.
Malaysian First: As a Malaysian, I would like to apologise for the stupidity and arrogance of the Umno-led government.
Those who gave away ICs (identity cards) in return for votes are the real enemies of the state, not Australian senator Xenophon. - Malaysiakini
