Peter Chin speechless over Selangor water takeover bid

Peter Chin speechless over S'gor water takeover bid
PETALING JAYA - The Water, Energy and Green Technology Ministry is keeping mum over the RM9.65 billion water takeover bid by the Selangor state government.
Its minister Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui said the offer has yet to "reach my office" and declined to comment on the matter.
"I have not received anything from the Selangor government so I cannot comment on the issues involved," he said in a text message reply to theSun.
Pressed if the federal government, which holds the golden share in Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas), will facilitate the takeover bid, Chin said "It is inappropriate to comment on the golden share until I've been advised by the Attorney General's office."
The Selangor state government on Wednesday announced it had launched the formal process to take over all four water concessionaires in the state, with the offer totaling RM9.65 billion.
The companies – Syabas, Puncak Niaga Sdn Bhd, Konsortium Abass Sdn Bhd and Syarikat Pengeluar Air Selangor Holdings – were sent the offer letters on Wednesday and have been given 14 days to present the bid to their shareholders.
The state government further called on the federal government to help facilitate the takeover, and to do so for public good to resolve water woes plaguing the state.
