KUALA LUMPUR- The Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary seat has exposed a dirty campaigning tactic against him using the short-messaging service (SMS) to disseminate lies.
Tan Kok Eng said the SMS he received at 4.30pm yesterday was defamatory.
"The SMS claimed I allegedly made a statement at a ceramah in Sungai Besi town recently that the MCA is only prepared to serve the Chinese.
"The SMS said I am prepared to work only for the Chinese -- Tan Kok Eng's speech on April 20 in Sungai Besi town after nomination was over, vote for independent candidates (local-born) logo "boat".
"The SMS is very provocative. It's mischievous and highly irresponsible aimed at raising racial issues," he told a press conference today.
Also present were MCA treasurer Datuk Seri Tan Chai Ho and Bandar Tun Razak MCA division chief Chew Lian Keng.
