Do Not Be Too Greedy, PKR told

It has been informed that Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) state seat in Selangor, Kota Damansara is expected to be contest by a candidate from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) as well. In 2008 general elections, PSM has won the Kota Damansara state constituency under the PKR ticket as the Registrar of Societies (ROS) had refused to register PSM at that time. The seat is currently being represented by PSM national chairman Dr Nasir Hashim.

Looks like, that is a big problem over here. PKR is now acting like a "taiko" wanted to contest all the seats that it can grab without giving a single opportunity to any smaller Opposition parties to contest. Before that, there is also an earlier indication that PKR may also want to grab the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat in the Perak state which is currently held by PSM central committee member Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj.

In the last general elections, PKR has contested away too many seats and out of they won not even half. The worst thing here is, after all these members of parliament (MPs) and state assemblymen (ADUNs) won the seats contest, they defected to become BN-friendly MPs or ADUNs. Defections after defections had finally reduced PKR's parliamentary and state seats, thus repositioned them to second in place in the opposition Pakatan Rakyat coalition. PKR previously has the highest number of seats in the opposition coalition.

The other issue is, why is PKR making a lots of fuss on the PSM's logo which consist of a red flag and a white fist on it? This is a Socialist characteristic of PSM, as the party carries the Socialist ideology as its struggle for the people and our nation. Is that wrong?

Furthermore, we also noted that these two PSM member of parliament and state assemblyman has been working tirelessly for the people since 2008 and feedback from the people reported their performance to be outstanding, people-oriented and grassroots kind of politicians where we hardly find any in large political parties nowadays. These are the kind of classless politicians that we want, those who are willing to go down to the ground, to attend and serve the people's needs and grievance as well as to understand directly the situation at large and not delegating to any "special assistants" instead.

Why can't PKR adopt a friendly kind of attitude by practising "give and take" in such situation, especially when dealing with fraternal parties like PSM? Come on! Only two seats, why is PKR so greedy until they want it all, one hundred percent?

So, this is the grave trouble with a two-party system intended to be put forward by both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat. It would eventually kill-off democracy in a wider aspect.

We hope the people would understand the current situation and vote for the party and representatives who are really working hard for the people on the ground instead of thinking and focusing too much on having a two-party system in our nation. This kind of system is indeed undemocratic.

One more piece of advice to PKR, do not behave as you are an overlord, like Umno.
