If voters think that the DAP will sure win the Bukit Bintang parliamentary seat, please vote for me to give me strength to continue serving the people and do not let me lose too much, said BN Bukit Bintang parliamentary secretary Frankie Gan Joon Zin.
Bukit Bintang has always been a fortress of the DAP and thus, Frankie Gan appealed to voters for not letting him lose too much in the upcoming election.
"Since voters think that the MCA wouldn't be able to seize the seat from the DAP, regardless of losing one vote or a thousand votes, it will still be consider as losing. Then please allow me to lose only a vote so I have the strength to go on," he said.
During an interview with Sin Chew Daily, he refused to guess at his winning odds and the number of votes he could get. He added that if voters do not vote for him, it would not be their fault and instead, it is because his performance is not good enough.
He said that he does not mind being called "cannon fodder" as failure is the mother of success. He takes his first contesting experience as a learning opportunity and of course, it will be great if he can win the election.
He describe his rival Fong Kui Lun, who has been the Bukit Bintang MP for three terms, as a nice guy and thanked him for serving the people for such a long period of time. However, he refused to comment on Fong's performance.
He said that since Bukit Bintang is the center of the capital, regardless of which coalition is going to win the seat, the area will be developed. Therefore, he said that if he wins, he will enhance humanities in that area to create a caring society.
