EC chief: DAP can still contest under PKR, Pas tickets if deregistered

Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, however, said such an outcome was unlikely, especially at the eleventh hour as nomination day drawing near.
There was nothing to stop DAP nominees from contesting as independent candidates, provided they had consent from the opposition pact's leaders, he added.
"If possible, we do not want that (the deregistration of DAP) to happen because it will complicate things.
"I also have a feeling that the RoS will not do that, especially when election is very close," he said.
Abdul Aziz also expressed his hope the DAP would resolve the matter with the RoS amicably to avoid being deregistered.
He added that his remark on Monday was a response to a question posed by a reporter who asked him for his view on the possibility that the party would be disqualified from taking part in the election.
It was reported that DAP did not have to use its alliance party symbols because its logo was still valid.
RoS director-general Datuk Abdul Rahman Othman was reported as saying DAP could still use its party logo in the 13th General Election.
He did not deny the possibility that DAP's fate would only be decided after the general election as the RoS did not want to rush into investigating and collecting evidences on the party's election fiasco.
