The PAS and DAP national leadership have dismissed Johor DAP deputy chairperson Norman Fernandez’s call to party members not to vote for the Islamic party.
They said this is his “personal view” and does not impact on Pakatan Rakyat cooperation.
“That is not the party stand, that is his personal view. Our stand is that we vote for all Pakatan candidates,” clarified DAP central executive committee member Anthony Loke.
His PAS counterpart agreed.
“Individual views won’t effect (Pakatan cooperation). We want to win Putrajaya. PAS will vote for DAP candidates,” declared party vice-president Mohamad Sabu, or Mat Sabu (left) as he is popularly known.
They were speaking at a press conference after attending a Pakatan leadership council meeting in Petaling Jaya today.
Dismissing statements from Johor PAS mulling retaliation, Mat Sabu stressed that his party’s Syura Council has decided that party members will vote for Pakatan candidates across the board.
Loke said that the party is mulling disciplinary action against Fernandez, but will only do act after the general election, as it wants to focus on the campaign and on winning the polls come Sunday.
