Gary Lim under probe: Rafizi shows evidence of alleged fraud

Gary Lim under probe: Rafizi shows evidence of alleged fraud
KUALA LUMPUR - PKR strategic director Rafizi Ramli today furnished evidence of ongoing investigations against Gary Lim, his rival from Barisan Nasional for the Pandan parliamentary seat, for alleged fraud and misconduct.
Rafizi's disclosure of two show-cause letters issued by Lim's former employers, Shearn Delamore & Co, as well as the Bar Council, was made after Lim had on Tuesday denied knowledge of any investigation against him.
Rafizi also produced a Bar Council letter dated Feb 19, which said Lim's case would be automatically referred to the disciplinary board after 14 days as he had failed to respond to an initial show-cause letter dated Jan 21.
"I believe the evidence here is clear enough that he (Lim) is under police and Bar Council investigation on allegations of misconduct despite his denial of the matter," he told a press conference at PKR's headquarters.
Rafizi had on Saturday revealed a police report against Lim by his former employer for alleged misrepresentation but Lim has denied knowledge of the matter.
When contacted, Lim told theSun he had asked a legal team to investigate the claims against him, describing it as "political espionage".
"Rafizi appears to have more documents than we do,"Lim said, adding that he would issue a statement later.
On Monday night, Lim had told an online portal: "Fraud is a very serious crime. If at all I am guilty of it, I would have been called or summoned by the police to assist in an investigation."
"The disciplinary board would have called me for a disciplinary inquiry. All I can say is that until today, I have not been called up by any of these authorities."
He also questioned the authenticity of the documents produced by Rafizi.
Contest for the Pandan parliamentary seat will also see Rafizi and Ong in a three-way fight with incumbent MP Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat's private secretary, Allan Tan, as an independent.
