KUALA LUMPUR- MCA supports the decision of its president, Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, not to contest in the 13th General Election.
Deputy president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the party understood Dr Chua's intentions and knew that he would do his best to aid the party.
"All of us, including our president, will work as a team to face this coming election."
Liow said he was confident of obtaining victory in the election as party leaders had worked out a campaign strategy with all the component parties.
"Right now, we are seeking the support of the people and we believe we will get it."
He said Barisan Nasional was working on the pathway of transforming the nation and this could be achieved in 25 years, at most.
"When you compare this with the promises of the opposition, who lack confidence and credibility, we will definitely provide a better base for the development of the nation.
"We don't make empty promises, we make pledges that are practical and realistic."
