Beginning tomorrow, the Penang BN will embark on a house-to-house election campaign until the end of the campaign period.
Its deputy chairperson Zainal Abidin Osman, who is also state Umno chief, said the BN machinery would distribute pamplets and brief residents on the coalition's manifesto unveiled by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak last night.
"It is the best way to inform the people on the seven issues outlined in the manifesto as these involve their interests. I have also received positive response from residents on the manifesto," Zainal Abidin said in Nibong Tebal today.
He said the state BN would launch its manifesto on Thursday, adding that the candidate line-up had been finalised.
"We decided on the line-up during a meeting with the prime minister, but as BN national chairperson, he has the prerogative to make changes to it," added Zainal Abidin.
Meanwhile, Permatang Pauh Umno division chief Abdul Jalil Abdul Majid condemned the opposition's allegation that the BN manifesto was all about money to buy the people's votes.
