ROS postpones DAP inquiry to after GE13
The Registrar of Societies (ROS) has postponed its inquiry into last year's DAP national elections until after the general election, DAP national organising secretary Anthony Loke said today.
"We made the request to them (for the inquiry to be held after the general election)," Loke is quoted as saying in a Sin Chew Dailyreport today.
With ROS in agreement, Loke said the possibility of DAP being de-registered during the general election period no longer arose.
The report also quotes Loke as saying that this also meant that DAP would be able to contest the May 5 general election on its "rocket" symbol without any hindrance.
Loke explained that the ROS decision was conveyed to DAP two days ago. The date for the hearing, he added, has not been fixed.
