One of the pressure groups livid with Seputeh MP Teresa Kok's Chinese New Year satire explained they are angry because the character spoofed was recognisably the prime minister's wife.
"If we see one of the characters, the woman (in the video), she looks exactly (sebiji) like Rosmah Mansor. With the style, the hand bag, the rings.
"That is an insult. YB Seputeh Teresa should be taken to court because (her video) had elements of mocking and insulting our leaders," said Abdul Rani Kulup, Martabat Jalinan Muhibbah Malaysia (MJMM) chairperson.
He was referring to actor Lim Ching Miau who played a feng shui expert Mrs Jit in the video entitled "Onederful Malaysia CNY 2014" which poked fun at the government on public issues.
MJMM, one of the pro-government lobbyists protesting the video that led to calls to slap Kok and the slaughtering chickens and spilling the poor animals' blood on her image attempted to explain their anger in a joint interview with Malaysiakini and KiniTV on Friday.
Abdul Rani accused Kok of tainting a noble celebration such as Chinese New Year by creating the satire video.
'Chicken massacre not ours'
Abdul Rani whose organisation were among the NGOs offering RM500 (later revised to RM1,200) to the public to slap Kok, said they needed to intervene as the government had been too soft on the matter.
"If no legal action is taken against leaders insulting the sultan, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or Malay Muslims, this will continue.
"After this, there will be another. So just give one slap and they will keep quiet," he said.
However when asked, they did not explain how the video insulted the various said parties.
Abdul Rani also distanced himself from the spilling of chicken blood at the Feb 6 protest.
"I wonder how MJMM managed to get involved in the group that held the protest on Jalan Tun Perak at Pudu Raya," he said, adding that he was personally there only on invitation from friends.
Last week Kok in an interview with Malaysiakini refused to confirm whether Mrs Jit in the satire was targeted at Rosmah, merely saying that it is up to people's interpretation.
