1MDB TIME-BOMB: Dr M & Najib must come clean on their 'SECRET MEETING'

I refer to reports of a meeting between PM Najib Razak and Dr Mahathir on Saturday regarding the 1MDB scandal.

Neither Najib nor Mahathir have so far denied holding such a meeting. If true, this secret meeting raises serious questions about the ongoing investigations into the scandal.

The Malaysian public is entitled to a transparent and comprehensive investigation into this massive financial mess which involves up to RM 42 billion in public funds.

On December 13, the IGP claimed that police have commenced investigations into the scandal. Since then, there has been no news on the progress of investigations. Instead, we now hear of this mysterious meeting between Najib and Mahathir.

In the interest of transparency and justice, Najib must confirm if there was such a meeting and reveal what was discussed or decided at this meeting.

Mahathir, who himself presided over massive financial scandals during his premiership, appears to be using the scandal to put political pressure on Najib. His involvement therefore is an unacceptable meddling in efforts to get to the bottom of the 1MDB scandal.

The investigation into this unprecedented financial scandal must be done professionally and in accordance with due process of law by the duly constituted enforcement authorities.

The authorities must break their silence on the progress of investigations. This investigation should be a national priority. The public has a right to know the truth!
