RUMORS HIT UMNO: Talk of Muhyiddin being ill & Najib, Rosmah agreeing to go into exile swirl ahead of pow-wow

Remember some time in June 2014 it was rumoured that Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin would go on a long leave purportedly in trying to solve the problems in Umno.

Later it was rumoured that he was not on leave because of the Umno problems, but he wanted to leave politics and move on with his life, which would also kill the rumour that he would replace Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Both of them simply didn’t happen. But could it be something else that have been kept so secret?

No matter what, his relationship with Najib seems to be steady and he took on a low profile role with Najib in the limelight. After all, Tun Abdullah Badawi and Datuk Seri Najib Razak did the same thing and the batons were handed over to them without much hassle.

But after so long in politics and with just one step further to the top, doesn’t Muhyiddin have any thought of taking over from Najib? As an ordinary normal human being, he must have thought about that not once, but on many occasions. He kept that to himself of course but he did try the market every now and then.

Rumours of Muhyiddin having cancer spread in the market

Besides being steady with Najib, Muhyiddin has also been linked to Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Muhyiddin has been said to have strong ties with the ex-Prime Minister and people have also commented that Mahathir needs Muhyiddin to fulfill whatever ambitions. Muhyiddin would just be a seat warmer.

Now it has been leaked by Umno grapevines through the blogs that there is something about Muhyiddin that have been kept secret; the secret that he has purportedly been diagnosed with cancer! But how true this is? Only time will tell.

Who would be glad if Muhyiddin is really ill?

The logic tells us that if you want to replace or change anything, do it for the better. With so-called cancer, Muhyiddin is damaged goods.

But those who want Najib to stay on must realize that the Prime Minister of Singapore Mr. Lee Hsien Loong has also been diagnosed with cancer twice and it could be treated. Similarly the late Datuk Nik Aziz also had cancer yet he was able to manage until his recent death.

See, if the rumour on Muhyiddin having cancer is to tell everybody that he is not fit, then it won’t work. They should try harder.

Even if Muhyiddin really has cancer, then it could be treated. Anyway if Dr Mahathir wants Muhyiddin to be a seat warmer until the next general election (GE-14), it would not be too long, maybe two years to go. Then if Dr. Mahathir is still alive by then, he could arrange for whoever he wants in Umno to be the prime minister. Still if whoever that Dr. Mahathir has in mind is still not ready by then, Muhyiddin can stay on until GE-15.

Let us digress a bit on who Dr. Mahathir wants to be the prime minister. Of course Dr. Mahathir wants his son to be the prime minster of Malaysia one day, but none of his sons can make the cut.

They may look smart, but once they open their mouths, nothing worth listening to would come out. They do not have the charisma and the brains, unlike his daughter Datin Marina Mahathir at least she has her own mind and tangible point of view.

Thus Dr. Mahathir, Muhyiddin and the anti-Najib Umno members and leaders are waiting with eagerness and anxiety on the outcome of the March 8th gathering planned by the pro-Najib Umno group. But they would never watch at keep still; they will make strategic maneuvers!

With not much time left for Dr. Mahathir, Najib cannot be too confident that all will go well in the gathering. With Dr. Mahathir’s backing, the anti-Najib group is definitely looking at this gathering and dialog as an opportunity or a platform to force Najib to resign. Continue the attacks.

There is too much news on all the wrong and bad things that Najib has done or associated with. Ultimately the negative news about Najib will come to a crescendo, overwhelming any good that Najib has done. That is what is going on now if one read an listen to the various media.

So far Najib has not been able to thwart any of the attacks and even his own cabinet is seemingly not backing him anymore, except a few odd voices like En. Khairy Jamaludin, Tan Sri Shafee Abdullah, Datuk Ahmad Maslan, Ku Nan and a few other, all of whom have now been silenced.

Najib has too much baggage and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah is the largest of all claimed some analysts. It seems that many in Umno and BN have found it a futile effort to defend Najib anymore because all the scandals, blunders and debacles are going to explode any moment now.

There have also been rumours, that Najib or at least Rosmah has already made plans to move overseas. They could choose to go to the US, UK, Kazakhstan or Europe. After all they have also been rumoured to have bought properties in those countries and one or two could be given by friends as gifts.
