Zaid: Why tackle Hudud when you can’t even tackle trash?

Zaid Ibrahim says PAS leaders are “weak and clueless” and not “good enough” to implement Hudud in Kelantan.
zaid ibrahim, kelantan kotor2PETALING JAYA: In a series of stinging tweets, former law minister Zaid Ibrahim attacked PAS leaders and said that their lack of strong leadership was the main reason he was so opposed to the implementation of Hudud in Kelantan.
“I’m not a liar or immoral person. I’m opposed to Hudud because people like PAS leaders are not good enough to implement them (Hudud laws),” he tweeted yesterday.
Zaid, whose hails from Kelantan, also made reference to the sad state of affairs in the state, saying PAS leaders were playing God by trying to implement God’s laws there when even a simple thing like garbage collection was something they failed to do with any degree of success.
1“They talk about Gods Law, but they are not God. Let God implement Gods Law. They (PAS) cant even collect rubbish regularly.”
He also accused PAS leaders of using God to cover-up their lack of knowledge on how to tackle the many problems facing the country.
“PAS leaders are weak and clueless about the country’s problems. So they seek to use God’s name to cover their shortcomings,” Zaid tweeted, also hitting out at Umno Kelantan for being impotent when it came to standing up to PAS’s ulamaks, who he said were playing “dumb” political games.
“Umno Kelantan is just plain boring. They cant even deal with half baked ulamak playing dumb political game(s).”
In his latest tweets, Zaid took aim at the country’s lawyers, who were giving their two cent’s worth regarding the issue of Hudud in Malaysia and sarcastically commented: “I don’t know how we can produce lawyers in large numbers who believe Hudud requires no constitutional changes. Tomorrow they will say We do not need (a) Constitution.”
The topic of Hudud has dominated the news when it was announced that the Kelantan assembly had unanimously passed a bill to amend the Kelantan Syariah Criminal Code II 1993.
