2 MINISTERS, 3 DEPUTIES TO QUIT: Najib nails his own coffin with rash ultimatum?

Prime Minister Najib Razak’s decision to say a “few words” to his ministers who are not on his side is equivalent to digging his own grave.

His act reflects the fact that he has been losing patience and is unsure about his direction although before this, he too his time responding to the criticisms from Dr Mahathir Mohamad, the former Prime Minister for 22 years and his response was most awaited by many.

During the Cabinet meeting on Friday, it was reported that Najib had indirectly hinted to those ministers who were not with him in facing the criticisms against his leadership especially in connection to 1MDB, to resign.

That “few words’ show that Najib has already identified those ministers who are not on his side and will not counter attack Dr Mahathir and the Opposition for him. Najib maybe also be aware that Dr Mahathir’s agenda is almost reaching the climax. Does this mean that June is going to be a difficult month for Najib?

That “few words” have already been taken note of by the respective ministers.

However, after saying those “few words”, it would be wise for Najib to get ready to lose a few ministers at one go. If three or five ministers were to resign, it would be a great challenge for Najib because this would eventually lead to his own resignation.

Although there are still some Members of Parliament who can replace those ministers who thrown in their letters, the reputation and integrity of Najib as the Prime Minister will go down the drain. The resignation of three or five ministers reflects the fact that the Cabinet itself has lost its confidence in Najib.

If this happens, then Najib and Malaysia will create history. For the first time, the Prime Minister has to resign because his own Cabinet has lost confidence in him.
