Wangsa Maju Fire and Rescue Station head, Che Shaari Abdullah said the incident which occurred about 2pm was due to road repair works near the location.
"The affected section of the road about 3 metres by 4.6 metres, was a risk to road users with the road sinking and worsening cracks because of the rain yesterday afternoon.
"We created a detour from Parliament to enter into the city centre for vehicles heading south," he said when contacted by Bernama.
Cleaning works are being carried out by the construction contractor and being monitored by the police, Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Fire and Rescue Department.
"The road will reopen when it is no longer a danger to road users," he added. – Bernama
