1MDB slams The Edge for publishing various allegations

1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) slammed The Edge Financial Daily for publishing various allegations and unsubstantiated statements.

Describing the four-page report as "irresponsible reporting," the government-owned strategic development company said, "we are surprised that these old and unproven allegations are being recycled yet again, when in fact there are multiple ongoing investigations being conducted by the lawful authorities on the issues raised previously."

The daily's news report on 1MDB focused mainly on the joint venture and the trail of international money.

1MDB said any party which can assist investigators should do so under the purview of the law, without resorting to such irresponsible and unnecessary sensationalism.

1MDB reiterated its trust in due process as evidenced by the professional and thorough ongoing investigations being conducted by the lawful authorities. – Bernama
