DAP so stingy, never gave a sen to its ‘proxy’ GHB, Mat Sabu says

Accused of being a DAP proxy by PAS, New Hope Movement (GHB) pro-tem chairman Mohamad Sabu said the newly-launched group has not received a single sen from DAP.
Mohamad, popularly known as Mat Sabu and a former PAS deputy president, said GHB was functioning on its own.
Although he told the media he did not want to respond to the “proxy” accusation from critics, he said it was “normal” for GHB to be slammed that way.
"We are using our own funds for our programmes," he told reporters after a GHB ceramah in Kangar, Perlis last night.
Last week, PAS former secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali said GHB, a new group formed by ousted PAS progressive leaders that was also planning a new Islamist party, would only serve as DAP's proxy.
He said GHB, which was launched last Monday, would not get the trust of Malays or support of the majority of PAS members.
There is much bad blood between the ulama-led PAS and DAP.
DAP had been very critical of PAS's hudud agenda and the matter had caused PAS to sever ties with the former, causing the opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to collapse.
GHB, helmed by PAS progressive leaders who are pro-PR and popular among their comrades in PKR and DAP, are now working towards forming a party of their own, which will pave the way for a new opposition coalition.
Because of what GHB is up to, the PAS leadership is reportedly taking disciplinary action against Mohamad and former PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub.
Both leaders had been labelled traitors for allegedly “destroying the party from inside”, PAS information chief Nasruddin Hassan was quoted as saying in a report last week after GHB was officially launched.
Asked if he had been called up to answer to his alleged betrayal, he said he had received no such communication from the party.
Meanwhile, DAP's Bukit Mertajam MP Steven Sim, who was a speaker at the ceramah, also laughed about the new movement being labelled a DAP proxy.
"If anyone wants to be a proxy, they will go to Umno. They have the funds.
"Why would anyone with his own agenda be a DAP proxy when it has no huge funds to give? Think for yourself," he said during his speech earlier during the event.
