Former Langkawi Umno member Anina Saadudin today filed a notice of appeal at the Kuala Lumpur High Court over its decision on Monday that affirmed her expulsion from the party.
The notice, filed at the High Court at 10.07am today, contests the whole decision by Judicial Commissioner S Nantha Balan.
It was filed by Anina's lawyer, Haniff Khatri Abdulla.
On Monday, Nantha Balan allowed a striking-out application by Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and executive secretary Abdul Rauf Yusoh over a suit that Anina filed against the two to challenge a letter dated Sept 1 announcing her expulsion.
He said the court does not have jurisdiction under Section 18C of the Societies Act 1966 to hear Anina's application to challenge her sacking.
"The court is bound by previous decisions in that any party member who files a court action against the party ceases to be a member," he said.
