YOURSAY | ‘Thanks for confirming that Najib has committed wrongdoings.’
Gunnerrun: Rural and Regional Development Ismail Sabri Yaakob, you are only quoting the Quran where it suits you.
How about the Holy Book saying you shall treat others equally no matter what their background is? That God frowns on stealing (corruption) where the punishment in ancient times included the removal of one's hands.
He also says humans should not indulge in any substances that can be intoxicating, such as drugs and vaping, but you are still too dense to understand this, especially when you made incredulous statements that the industry should be protected because bumiputera vape businesses are flourishing.
WDA: Thanks Ismail Sabri for confirming that PM Najib Razak has committed wrongdoings. On top of that, he acknowledged that past Umno presidents have committed wrongs too.
Can you now tell us why the rakyat should trust and vote for a party helmed by such leaders?
NNFC: What is Ismail Sabri trying to say? Is he trying to say that past wrongs committed by previous leaders will then have the licence to commit more sins?
What I can say, however, is that the sins are getting bigger and bigger.
Saya Pun Nak Cari Makan: So Ismail Sabri admitted that Najib made mistakes. But of all the past PMs, Najib apparently made the biggest mistakes.
Never in the history of the country has a sitting PM is levelled with so many allegations, and never before has a PM being labelled with such rotten names like liar, hypocrites, and lots more despicable ones.
Anonymous 706151436780066: Ismail Sabri deserves a gold medal for finally admitting that the present Umno leadership has done wrong.
Instead of justifying the wrongdoings on the grounds that past presidents have also done so, the man should have the moral conscience to set about righting the wrongs.
He suggests that blind loyalty to a wrongdoing leader as Islamic. But none of the holy books teach that wrongdoing is worthy of blind loyalty.
Iiiizzzziiii: This goes to show what an airhead we have for a minister, conveniently applying certain principles to gain certain favours.
If we have ministers like Ismail Sabri, what kind of future does Malaysia has? What kind of future will the younger generations have? What kind of message is being sent to all, especially the younger generation?
Kingfisher: Blind obedience and agnosticism in the affairs of man and state can lead to tyranny and abuse. Faith in religion is a singular matter.
Faith in fellowmen needs monitoring, verification and remedial action. Man is fallible.
Whatshappening: Yes, people make mistakes. Human beings are no saint. But again, it depends on what type of wrongdoing a person has committed.
The funny thing is people are convicted for petty crimes and bigger ones are not investigated.
Ib: Is Ismail Sabri saying let's not pay attention to those who do wrong since only very few people care about it?
Not surprising, especially since he paid no attention to the law banning the consumption of turtle eggs in Sabah.
This is a living proof that our cabinet members think they are actually above the law. Sabah should ban him from entering the state, not because of turtle eggs but his attitude towards the law.
Odin Tajué: You are telling us that Islam commands that followers be loyal even to people who are heavily tainted and corrupt as long as they are leaders?
Shindig: Brilliant Ismail Sabri. Thanks for reaffirming that if we want real and positive change in Malaysia, it is not just the Umno president who has to go, but the whole of you - Umno and BN ministers - who should be kicked out.
Limfly: So, according to Ismail Sabri it is unimportant that Umno leaders get their president to admit the wrongs he has done, but for them to stay loyal to the president so that Umno can continue to rule Malaysia.
That being the case, the wrongs will never be put right. Their loyalty to Umno leaders will ensure that. Those who choose to do otherwise are deemed to be disloyal and summarily dismissed.
That's precisely is the modus operandi we see being played out. With leaders like that running the country who needs enemies?
Onyourtoes: What are you talking about? If former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad did wrong, can Najib do a bigger wrong?
We can't undo what Mahathir did years ago but surely we can prevent Najib from doing more wrongs.
DramaQueen ^_^: History teaches us:
1. To not repeat mistakes made
2. To learn from past mistakes
3. To rectify the wrongs and make them right
And history has been a good teacher. -Mkini
