The Umno supreme council will decide on Muhyiddin Yassin’s caustic speech tonight amid calls for action against him over his remarks regarding Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Asked if he was afraid of facing disciplinary action, the deputy president merely waved it off to indicate that he was not.
Quizzed on whether he would remain as the number two, Muhyidin simply nodded.
Besides these gestures, the veteran politician did not utter a word to the swarm of media representatives as he left the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur.
He is expected to return to the Umno headquarters later to attend the supreme council meeting.
On Monday night, Muhyiddin fired a barrage of salvoes, in what was his harshest criticism of Najib since his removal as deputy prime minister, during a talk.
Also present at the event was former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who as always, did not hold back in lashing out at the prime minister and calling for his resignation.
Following this, Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said Muhyiddin’s speech would be scrutinised and he risked losing his deputy presidency.
He also accused the number two and his allies of being power-crazy.
