UMNO AGM Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin has turned up at the party’s supreme council meeting tonight amid speculations that there will be attempts to push for this suspension.
Also present was Umno vice-president Shafie Apdal.
Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan uploaded a photograph on Twitter of the duo in the meeting just as it was about to commence at 8.30pm.
Muhyiddin was seen seated on the right of Umno president Najib Abdul Razak while Shafie was seated in between Umno vice-presidents Hishammuddin Hussein and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Earlier today, pro-Najib protal MyKMU.net speculated that at least 10 Umno supreme council members are planning to push for Muhyiddin’s suspension.
However, Muhyiddin’s presence at the meeting tonight will make any such efforts an awkward attempt.
Nonetheless, the awkward situation does not necessarily mean that Muhyiddin is out of the woods yet as past leaders have faced action despite being present.
Then-Umno deputy president Anwar Ibrahim was on Sept 4, 1998 sacked from the party and subsequently told to leave the meeting.
Muhyiddin and Shafie were in July dropped from the government for their critical stance against Najib’s handling of 1MDB which is struggling to repay its US$11 billion debt.
Najib had since also moved to sideline both leaders in the party, stripping them of major functions.
Some Umno supreme council leaders have been reluctant to endorse further action against Muhyiddin and Shafie, fearing a further split in the party.
However, Muhyiddin and Shafie have become increasingly critical of Najib, prompting Najib’s supporters to push for action against them. -Mkini
