Nine Umno branch leaders from the Teluk Kemang division who were summoned before the party's disciplinary board today, will know their fate in two weeks.
The group’s representative Kamarul Azman Habibur Rahman informed this to the media after they faced the disciplinary board for some four hours.
”We were made to understand that a decision will be made in two weeks.
"There was no mention of punishment but even if there is, both the disciplinary board and us are in consensus that it will be for the common good," he said.
Kamarul said they were satisfied with their meeting with the disciplinary board today.
"The board questioned us and treated us nicely. They conducted themselves with the highest professionalism," he said.
The nine Umno branch leaders arrived at the Umno headquarters at 2.30pm today to explain their call for Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to resign in October.
Some 50 people including Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin had turned up to show their support.
Among others present to show support were former Gopeng Umno Wanita chief Hamidah Osman and former Langkawi Umno member Anina Saadudin. -Mkini
