Cannabis is being liquefied and mixed with vape liquids to be sold through cash-on-delivery terms and through postage, police said today.
Cannabis was being liquefied by chemists to be sold as vape liquids, said Datuk Seri Mohd Mokthar Mohd Sharrif, director of the Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department.
“They only need two to three drops of liquefied cannabis added to the vape liquid to be sold in 15ml bottles at RM80 each,” he told a press conference at the federal police headquarters.
“There were seven people arrested from these regions including a university student and a couple who tested positive for drugs,” he said.
He said police confiscated 214 bottles believed to be liquefied cannabis and 7.1kg of dried leaves believed to be cannabis worth up to RM38,000.
He said since the beginning of the year, police had arrested 165,307 locals and 6,524 foreigners during their Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group operations.
A total of RM233 million worth of drugs were seized.
Mokthar also warned foreigners that they would face the full brunt of the law if they crossed the line while in the country.
