Readers have emailed The Malaysian Insider to report a plenitude of potholes in the Klang Valley. Watch out for this one on Jalan Rawang Perdana 5 in Rawang, Kuala Lumpur. – The Malaysian Insider pic by Low Han Shaun, December 10, 2015.
Since The Malaysian Insider launched the #ZeroPotHole campaign on Tuesday, readers have sent in a flood of complaints about cavities, craters and ruts riddling the roads of Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.
Many, tired of the lack of road maintenance, are glad of the chance to vent their frustration over the inaction of the authorities.

Robert Hon listed eight locations in Shah Alam, Subang and Petaling Jaya that were urgently in need of attention.
The locations include Setia Alam from Persiaran Setia Alam to Persiaran Setia Prima coming from the PLUS Highway and Setia Alam from Jalan Setia Perdana U13/24 to Persiaran Setia Alam (stretch of Persiaran Setia Prima is uneven); Jalan SS7/2 at junction of Jalan SS7/9 from MAS Academy towards Nanyang (there are two potholes immediately after the right bend); and on the ramp from Federal Highway towards Jalan Lapangan Terming Subang (two potholes).
Hon said that he hoped the roads would be mended before Christmas or the new year.
Another reader known as Hazman said Jalan 2/149 of Sri Petaling had a deep pothole.
“It is on Jalan 2/149 of Sri Petaling (under the MEX highway). Those speeding will surely get their vehicles badly damaged if they do not manage to avoid the hole. It has been there a long time and no one had made effort to cover it up,” he said.
Another reader called Ak Fong pointed out a number of roads in Seri Kembangan that needed attention.
“The following roads in Seri Kembangan need repairs – Jalan Kasturi, Jalan PBS14/1 and Jalan PBS14/11. These are main roads with heavy traffic,”he said.
The Malaysian Insider launched the #ZeroPotHole campaign to get the authorities to take potholes seriously and to provide better roads.
