MP wants stern action against headmistress if teacher's allegation true Read more: https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/327415#ixzz3xfatUWDh

The headmistress of SJKC Pai Chee must face stern action if the allegation that she coerced Malay teachers to leave the school is true, said Umno lawmaker Abdul Latiff Ahmad.
He also urged the Education Ministry to investigate the performance of the headmistress to determine if she was capable and qualified for the post.
"(She must) not only be transferred, but must face disciplinary action or be demoted if it is proven she forced teachers to resign or obtain a transfer without valid reasons," he told BNBBC.my, the official website of the BN Backbenchers Club.
The Chinese primary school is located within Abdul Latiff's parliamentary constituency of Mersing in Johor Bahru.
Last week, teacher Salina Daud claimed she was assaulted by a parent, and in her police report made several allegations against the headmistress and school authorities.
The teacher claimed the parent was infuriated because she reprimanded his son for uttering profanities at her in the Chinese language during class.
When her report was circulated on several blogs, the issue took a racial slant.
The headmistress has since been transferred to the district education department pending completion of the investigation.
Meanwhile, Latiff said he learned that SJKC Pai Chee students' performance in Bahasa Malaysia and other subjects have been on the decline.
"So perhaps the headmistress' failure led to parents becoming dissatisfied, resulting in the attack on the teacher," he said, while BNBBC.my claimed the headmistress was previously only a music teacher.
Latiff said action must also be taken against the parent who attacked the teacher in order for it to be a lesson for others and to prevent a similar incident from recurring.
The MP also wanted the Malay teachers to be transferred to safeguard their dignity.
The report also stated that Latiff, in response to a question, denied there were political or racial elements in the case "although the headmistress is said to be close to the opposition". Mkini
