Jailed former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim is entitled to his opinions, said Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said this when asked about Anwar's scathing letter to PKR, warning the party to be wary of the former premier.
"That is his opinion. He is entitled to it," Mahathir told reporters in Subang Jaya today. He then brushed off the PKR de facto leader's accusations of him being a proponent of cronyism as an "old story" which he did not wish to be repeated.
In the letter which went public on Monday, Anwar had also cautioned that the Citizens' Declaration spearheaded by Mahathir was a flawed document.
He said it only served to further Mahathir's goals to overthrow Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, instead of implementing reforms.
Anwar had also lamented that some PKR leaders were in cahoots with Mahathir and former finance minister Daim Zainuddin.
He warned that working with them could derail PKR's struggles. -Mkini
