Azmin: Show evidence on 'money and women' allegations

Provide evidence of allegations that "money and women are requested" during discussions with the state government, said Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali.
"My statement is clear. If there is evidence, then please provide the evidence.
"These are baseless allegations," Azmin told reporters when met after his second function in Sungai Besar today.
Asked whether actions would be taken by the state government, Azmin said: "How can I take any action? We want to see the allegations and leave it to the authorities (to investigate)."
Earlier this morning, Azmin has described the latest allegations of corrupt practices with “requests for women during negotiations” as a systematic smear campaign against the state government.
He also said the allegations appearing on social media and news portals are vicious and scurrilous, and not supported by any evidence.
It was reported yesterday that allegations had surfaced from a leaked WhatsApp conversation where PKR vice-president and Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli (photo) claimed he had received complaints that "money and women are requested during negotiations" when dealing with the state.
Rafizi had, in response to Azmin's earlier statement, confirmed the leaked WhatsApp message and said the complaint was received from a whistleblower in his capacity as executive director of National Oversight and Whistleblowers (NOW).
“If there is no corroborating evidence, NOW will not pursue the alleged misconduct as our resources are limited,” Rafizi said in a statement.
Discussions ongoing until June 5
Azmin, meanwhile, once again insisted that negotiations with PAS over candidate for the upcoming twin by-elections in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar can go on until nomination day on June 5.
"Discussions are ongoing until June 5," said Azmin when asked for comment on the latest reported statement by PAS election director Mustafa Ali.
Mustafa is the latest PAS leader to declare that the Islamist party will field its candidates against BN in both seats.
Azmin earlier today said he had two meetings with Mustafa, PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man and political secretary to the PAS president, Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar.
"Insha Allah, if possible I want to meet with him (Mustafa) everyday. They (PAS) are all our friends in the struggle (against BN).
"Our goal is only to go against BN," he stressed.
Both the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar seats fell vacant after the recent deaths of its incumbents in the Sarawak helicopter tragedy. -Mkini
