Bank officer texts Johor royalty for financial help, gets arrested

A bank officer in Johor Baru thought it was a good idea to text a Johor royalty for financial help, but there was a major flaw in his plan: it was actually quite a stupid idea.

The banker, who was believed to be heavily in debt, reportedly obtained the royal's phone number from his bank's database.

According to The Star Online, the 20-something man then sent a WhatsApp message to the royal, explaining his financial problems and asked for money.

However, the amount he asked for was not made known. 

The man was then arrested at his workplace in Kuala Lumpur on 20 May after a police report was made.

State police chief Comm Datuk Wan Ahmad Najmuddin Mohd told The Star Online that the man will be charged in court soon as the police were completing the papers before submitting them to the Deputy Public Prosecutors.
