Gruesome death for man hit by electric train in Kedah

A man was killed today after he was run over by a high speed electric train near Megat Dewa, a small town in Kedah near Kubang Pasu, about 4.30pm today.

The train is part of the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) Electric Train Service (ETS) and was headed to Kuala Lumpur.

A KTMB spokesperson when contacted, confirmed the incident, and said the victim had trespassed onto the rails.

Cartoonist Rona Sina, who was on board, painted a gruesome scene.

"At first we heard a noise and the train stopped. We thought there was a rock on the rails.

"Then 10 minutes later we heard that someone had been hit. The train reversed and there was a commotion and you could see chunks of flesh when you looked out the window," he told Malaysiakini.

He added it took an hour before the train resumed its journey.
