PETALING JAYA: Former PAS vice-president Husam Musa has alleged that he was sacked from the party to stop him from being local about the decisions being made by the party, especially after the death of Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
Husam lamented having lost a voice in the upcoming party’s annual general assembly, or muktamar, and said he had written a letter to party president Abdul Hadi Awang asking to be reinstated as a PAS member.
According to The Star Online, he said this when speaking to reporters at a press conference at his house in Kota Bharu recently.
Husam said even if his appeal to be reinstated was not entertained, he would still consider attending the muktamar as an observer.
“I will only attend the gathering if the party can assure my safety because I am faced with many unknown fanatic enemies.
“From what I’ve learnt, this year’s Muktamar debates will be held behind closed doors. I wonder why unless the debates if held openly, will reflect badly on the current leadership,” he was quoted as saying.
The Salor assemblyman was sacked from the Islamist party on May 6 following his vocal criticisms against the party leadership.
Husam is also adamant about not stepping down as Salor assemblyman and urged PAS to stay out of both the Kuala Kangsar and Sungai Besar by-elections as the party would lose face if it lost.
