Jelebu MP Zainudin Ismail will undergo surgery at Kuala Lumpur Hospital today after reportedly falling unconscious at his house in Kuala Klawang, Negeri Sembilan, today.
Bernama quoted Jelebu Umno chief Jalaluddin Alias as saying that doctors may have found a tumour in his brain following a CT scan.
"I was made to understand by the doctors that there may be a tumour in his brain, and he is still in the Intensive Care Unit.
"The hospital will be doing the surgery anytime now," Jalaluddin said.
He noted that Zainuddin had not been looking well lately, but had chalked it down to stress from being an MP.
Zainudin, a first-term parliamentarian, succeeded in the seat once occupied by former federal minister Rais Yatim.
He won against PAS candidate Raj Munni Sabu (Aiman Athirah Al-Jundi) with a 7,101-vote majority. -Mkini
