Oppositon Leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has tabled a motion calling for the Dewan Rakyat to debate the Public Accounts Committee's report on its investigation into 1MDB.
Her motion is listed as No 11 out of 15 motions listed for debate in parliamentary Order Paper.
"The speaker (Pandikar Amin Mulia) had said on April 7 that the Parliament may debate PAC's report in the coming session.
"Thus, the Dewan (should) debate the matter in the House," Wan Azizah, the PKR Permatang Pauh parliamentarian, said.
She noted that PAC has listed the various weaknesses and constraints faced by the state-owned fund, while seven countries were also investigating corruption and money laundering allegations surrounding 1MDB.
The countries include the United States of America, United Kingdom, Singapore, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Australia and Switzerland.
The new session of Parliament sitting began today and it will go on until May 26.
PAC has held 1MDB’s former chief executive officer Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi and other members of the top management responsible for 1MDB's constraints and weaknesses.
Meanwhile, Lee Boon Chye (PKR-Gopeng) has urged the Parliament to call for a special sitting following the revelation by Abu Dhabar sovereign wealth fund International Petroleum Investment Co (IPIC) denial about any links with Aabar Investment PJS Ltd (BVI).
His proposal was listed as the last motion on the Order Paper.
Lee argued that the latest development - the winding up of BVI on June 2015, would impact the effort of 1MDB repaying its debt and rationalisation plan.
1MDB is said to have paid US$3.5 billion to BVI firm, a so-called subsidiary to IPIC.-Mkini
