Winning or losing not as vital as upholding Harapan’s principles

Image result for Pakatan Harapan

YOURSAY | ‘Pakatan Harapan should not throw away this golden chance to test the market.’
Prudent: Prof P Ramasamy, if elections can decide the future of Malaysia, Umno-BN would have been booted out in GE13, if not even earlier.
To take power, Pakatan Harapan will have to overcome the Election Commission’s (EC) alleged gerrymandering.
Anonyxyz: Win or lose should not be the criteria of Harapan. If now is not the time to test the people’s acceptance of Harapan, then when?
Anyway, with outstation voters not coming back to vote, money politics, etc, BN will surely win these by-elections irrespective of whether Harapan contest or not.
However, Harapan should not throw away this golden chance to test the market.
RCZ: The rakyat want to see the clear stand of the various parties. If PAS is out of Harapan, then it is out.
The rest of the parties in Harapan - DAP, PKR and Amanah - must show the people that their stand is clear that PAS is out and should remain out.
Be consistent and if Amanah loses, so what? Why be downhearted? Live and fight another day, as DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang says.
Lamps: Please stick to Harapan principles. Both PAS and Umno are friends. Amanah should contest both seats.
Let it be a three-cornered fight. Amanah will win with the help of non-Malays voters.
Apple Polishing I am Not: Lamps, you are right. Amanah should contest both seats. And with a big portion of support coming from Muslims and non-Muslims, there is a good possibility Amanah can secure the seats.
Amanah chief Mohamad Sabu, go all out this time for Kuala Kangsar.
Anonymous_40f4: Harapan parties should get feedback from the 52 percent who voted for them in GE13.They cannot get arrogant and act unilaterally like in Sarawak.
Harapan supporters are already losing hope. The opposition coalition should show Najib/Umno Baru that they can still remain united even with Anwar in prison. They should not betray the hard work done by Anwar.
With spoiler PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang insisting on contesting, three-way fights are inevitable.
Amanah should be given both the seats because the voters are disillusioned with Umno Baru and Hadi, and will vote for Amanah.
Hibiscus: So long as any party in the Harapan coalition can have leeway to have alliances outside of the coalition, Harapan can never take over Putrajaya.
The rakyat will only vote Harapan into Putrajaya if Harapan projects a clear united front.
If political parties make decisions without due consideration to the feelings of those who voted them in, they are sure to be voted out at the next opportunity these voters have.
Don't Worry Be Happy?: There is nothing really to consider on whether to accommodate PAS. PAS is not in the Harapan coalition, so it is a non-issue.
Winning or losing the twin by-elections is not as important as upholding the principles and integrity of Harapan.
The least acceptable solution is to agree with PAS that they contest in Kuala Kangsar and Harapan contests in Sungai Besar.
Dont Just Talk: What wrong has social activist Hishamuddin Rais done that he was thrown into jail, time and time again.
He did not steal from the nation. He practised what he believes in without hurting anyone, as compared to those who abused their political position and who pillaged and bled the nation's coffers dry.
Yet they are freely flying around the globe, shopping and enjoying their ill-gotten wealth in Europe, while their siblings purchased high-end properties in the US.
Hishamuddin, with my limited knowledge in Bahasa Melayu, I humbly quote that "manusia mati tinggal nama" and your name will be long remembered as someone who championed honesty, hard work and a fighter for the poor and the downtrodden.
Disgusted: I have awesome respect for this man, who is a true patriot and citizen of Malaysia.
May he live to see the day the corrupted and arrogant ‘dogs’ be caged forever, including their much-hated leader.Snake-in-the-Grass: He is what he says he is, and what you say he is, but that may not be what he truly is.

From reading this article, we can only conclude that he is a Malay maverick, anti-establishment and not finding much support in contented Malaysia.
Sleepy: I hope one day someone makes a movie of this colourful guy. -Mkini
